About
Welcome to PuzzleSurfer.com and thank you for visiting! Join the fun by signing up and becoming a PuzzleSurfer. Joining PuzzleSurfer is free and we hope you will invite your friends to become PuzzleSurfers too and to enjoy solving some of the most cryptic rebus puzzles on the internet. (Your details will not be used for spam or other hidden agendas, see our privacy policy for more details).
If you become a PuzzleSurfer your progress will be saved. This way you can keep track of all the puzzles you have solved. You can then list all the unsolved puzzles, avoiding going back to the ones you have already solved. You can even submit puzzles if you are a PuzzleSurfer. (All submitted puzzles are first reviewed before they become published).
Sometimes you will not get the answer. Not in a million years! But your cleverer little sister might. Don’t be upset, just, keep on guessing!
PuzzleSurfer was created so people become aware of a welfare organization called Neema Lalela which supports needy children affected by the HIV/AIDS pandemic in South Africa. There are already 2 million orphans in South Africa as a result of this dreaded disease. Please visit the Neema Lalela site and support this worthy cause or just send a puzzle to a friend to help spread the word (or just to have fun).
How to solve the PuzzleSurfer puzzles
The cryptic clues or rebus puzzles are designed to represent an object, proverb or even a common phrase using words, pictures or a sequence of symbols. The idea is that the clue must not be too obvious, and must be fun to solve. Sometimes there is a deliberate spelling mistake to make things less obvious. The puzzles have in some cases been called Frame Games, Brain Pics and in other cases Rebus Puzzles. Some people do not like smoke signals (but those people would feel better off reading the government gazette, where the smoke signals are less apparent :-) ).
Here is an example of a rebus puzzle:
